Be The Light in a Dark World

Week #1

  1. Light up the world around you.

“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. – Matthew 5:14

  1. Display your light proudly.

Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. – Matthew 5:15

  1. Use your light wisely.

In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. – Matthew 5:16

When it comes to letting your light shine do you use your light to separate you from the world – in a bad way – or do you use your gifts to bring people together – which honors God.

Points to Ponder

  1. What does it mean to be a light?

  1. Tell about a time when you experienced darkness (such as camping, going in a cave, loss of electricity in your home at night).

  1. What effect does darkness have on our bodies? Our hearts? Our minds? Our souls?

  1. Why would God choose to use us as his lights to the world?
