Scripture Lesson: 2 Corinthians 9:6-15
My Cup Runneth Over
With Blessings
Week #3
If we are “out of our mind,” as some say, it is for God; if we are in our right mind, it is for you. For Christ’s love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died. And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again. - 2 Corinthians 5:13-15
Jesus gave it all - left heaven, became human, gave his life and rose. Gave us his righteousness, etc... He gave us everything.
How Paul Wants Us To Think:
Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. - 2 Corinthians 9:6
Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. - 2 Corinthians 9:7
And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. - 2 Corinthians 9:8
QUICK ONE LINER THOUGHTS: 1. WHERE GOD GUIDES - HE ALSO PROVIDES
Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness. - 2 Corinthians 9:10
Because of the service by which you have proved yourselves, others will praise God for the obedience that accompanies your confession of the gospel of Christ, and for your generosity in sharing with them and with everyone else. - 2 Corinthians 9:13
Summary - Our giving will win HEARTS FOR CHIRST because of God’s grace.
And in their prayers for you their hearts will go out to you, because of the surpassing grace God has given you. Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift! - 2 Corinthians 9:14-15
