Points To Ponder 

 

Churches handle the tithes and offerings differently. Some pass a basket or collection plate, some have a box in the back, some provide ways to give online. How does your church do it, and have you ever given any thought to how the offering is collected? 

 

In which part of the service does the offering take place? Some have it before the sermon, and some after. What theological messages might the position of the offering in the service be communicating? 

 

How is participating in tithes an act of embodying faith? Do you think electronic offering, while typically better financially for a church, is helpful or harmful to the act of worship of tithing? Why?
